St Mary’s, East Barnet, is committed to developing best practice in the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We seek to:

Promote a safer environment and culture
Safely recruit and support all those with any responsibility related to children, young people or vulnerable adults within the church
Respond promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
Care pastorally for the victims or survivors of abuse and other affected persons
Care pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons
Respond appropriately to those who may pose a present risk to others

The care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults is a shared responsibility of everyone who takes part in the life of our church.
